How to Set Up Your Wedding Pinterest Boards

Depending on where you are in the planning process, you may be spending more time on Pinterest than usual. And by more time, we mean day and night.

It’s easy to get caught up in the never-ending inspiration, but the best way to organize your vision is by setting up your Pinterest boards properly.

Here are some tips on how to keep your pins organized.

1. Start by Pinning to a Single Board

It's best to save everything to one board when you first start pinning. Later you'll break pins up into smaller boards, but at first, you should save everything in one spot. This way you'll be able to see trends that will help you decide on your final vision.

2. Break Your Single Board Into Smaller Categories

Once you see a trend in your single board, break your pins into smaller sections. This will help narrow down each element of your wedding. To save time, we recommend focusing on one category each time you're on Pinterest.

Categorize your favorite pins into the below sections.

1. Dress

2. Veil/Headpiece

3. Jewelry/Accessories

4. Shoes

5. Hair

6. Makeup

7. Groom/Groomsmen Apparel

8. Bridal Party Apparel

9. Bouquets

10. Boutonnières

11. Reception Decor

12. Ceremony Decor

13. Head Table

14. Centerpieces

15. Tablescapes

16. Food & Drink

17. Cake

18. Stationery

19. Signage

20. DIY Projects

21. Favors

22. Guest Book

23. Rings

24. Photo Ideas

25. Other

3. Edit & Finalize

Once you've curated your wedding sections, edit out any pins that you no longer like. You can delete them or move them to another board to save for reference. You'll now have only the images you are going to use for your wedding. We recommend copying and pasting the images to a master vision board on your computer. You will reference this during your planning process. You can also share this master board with your vendors so they get a clear picture of what you are looking for.

Good luck and don’t get hung up on comparing your wedding to others!

You’ll find lots of pictures on Pinterest of couples that look like they’ve spent over $75,000 on their wedding. You should know that most of those images are styled shoots for magazines and are not of real weddings. Use elements of them for inspiration but know your wedding will be amazing no matter your budget.
